Bilahari Kausikan is currently Chairman of the Middle East Institute, an autonomous institute of the National University of Singapore. He has spent his entire career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his 37 years in the Ministry, he served in a variety of appointments at home and abroad, including as Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Permanent Representative to the UN in New York, and as the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry. Raffles Institution, the University of Singapore and Columbia University in New York all attempted to educate him.

Mr Kwa Chong Seng is currently Chairman of 5-Hour Energy Corporation Private Limited. He is a Director of Smart Energy Systems, Inc., a Delaware USA corporation. In addition, he holds public office appointment as Member of the Judicial Service. He is also Strategic Advisor to Renew Group Private Limited.

Mr Kwa held various non-executive appointments as Chairman of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd, Singapore Exchange Ltd, Fullerton Fund Management Company Ltd and Olam International Ltd. He was also Deputy Chairman of Public Service Commission, Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd, Board Member of Seatown Holdings Pte Ltd, DBS Group Holdings Ltd and DBS Bank Ltd.

Mr Kwa has more than 40 years’ experience in the petroleum industry. He started his career with Esso Singapore Pte Ltd in 1969, holding various roles in Logistics, Marketing and other parts of the downstream business before becoming Chairman and Managing Director in 1992. He held this post until 1999 when he became Chairman and Managing Director of ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. He retired from this position in 2011.

In 1994, Mr Kwa was awarded the Distinguished Engineering Alumni Award by the National University of Singapore. In 1999, he was conferred the Honorary Ningbo Citizenship. He was also awarded The Public Service Star in 2005, and The Public Service Star (Bar) in 2016, by the Singapore Government.

Mr Kwa graduated from the University of Singapore with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering Singapore.

Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont is the Chairman of The Digital Council of Thailand (DCT), which aims to transform Thailand into a digital innovation hub. DCT has envisioned to elevate the business or Thai digital industry to international level, and to drive toward better economy, society, and quality of life of Thai people.

Mr. Chearavanont has been a member of the Thai Government’s Independent Committee for Educational Reform since May 2017 and President of the United Nations Global Compact Network Thailand (GCNT) since 2017.

Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont is also the Senior Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd. (C.P. Group), one of Asia's leading conglomerates that consists of over 100 companies operating in 21 countries across a wide range of sectors, including agri-food, retail, and telecommunications.

In 2015, he was presented with the “Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Telecom CEO of the Year” award at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards and elected President of the Telecommunications Association of Thailand. He was appointed a Counselor and Advisory Board Member for the One Young World Summit 2015 and joined One Young World’s Global Advisory Board in 2018.

Mr. Chearavanont graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration focusing on Financial Management from Boston University, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree in Mass Communications from Ramkhamhaeng University in March 2016.

Ankur Meattle is Head of Asia Private Equity Funds & Co-Investments at GIC. As part of this role, Ankur oversees our Asian private equity funds programme, as well as co-investment deals alongside GPs. In addition, Ankur co-chairs the ASEAN Business Group (ABG), which helps coordinate overall ASEAN investment strategy across GIC.

Ankur joined GIC in 2004 and has been part of various teams within the GIC Asia Private Equity organisation. Before joining GIC, he was a Manager with Arthur D Little, a strategy consulting firm, in Singapore. He has also worked with PwC and KPMG in India.

Ankur holds a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (Delhi) and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.

Ms Gillian Tan is the Assistant Managing Director of the Development and International Group and Chief Sustainability Officer, overseeing the development of Singapore as an international financial centre as well as MAS’ sustainability strategies and international relations.

Prior to this appointment, Ms Tan was Executive Director of the Financial Markets Development Department, focussing on the development of the capital market, asset management and insurance sectors as well as sustainable finance capabilities and solutions in Singapore. She was also tasked with setting up MAS’ Enforcement Department, which is responsible for investigating breaches of anti-money laundering regulations, market misconduct offences and other laws administered by MAS, and served as its Executive Director from 2016-2019.

Ms Tan previously worked in the Supreme Court of Singapore as a Justices’ Law Clerk, Assistant Registrar and Magistrate, and was subsequently appointed as a District Judge of the State Courts of Singapore. She served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor and Deputy Senior State Counsel in the Attorney-General’s Chambers for a number of years.

Ms Tan co-chairs the Private Banking Industry Group, the Singapore Funds Industry Group and the Human Resources Industry Group. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Green Finance Industry Taskforce and the Advisory Boards of the Singapore Green Finance Centre and the Sustainable and Green Finance Institute, which conduct multi-disciplinary research and talent development in sustainability and sustainable finance. Ms Tan is also a Board Member of Infrastructure Asia, which supports Asia’s social and economic growth through infrastructure development. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Monetary Fund’s Singapore Regional Training Institute.

Ms Tan graduated from Cambridge University with a First Class Honours in Law. She also holds a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School. She was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2018 in recognition of her contributions to public service.

Before joining BlackRock, Kerrine was responsible for business and product development for Alternative Investments at UOB Asset Management and held credit analysis and strategic investment roles within United Overseas Bank.

Kerrine received a M.Sc. in Applied Finance from Singapore Management University and a B.A. in Economics with first-class Honours from the National University of Singapore. Kerrine is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst charter holder.

As Chief Business Officer at the Everstone Group, Sanjay has worked across various facets of the business at this Singapore-headquartered private capital group, with ~US$ 8 billion in assets under management across Private Equity, Logistics, Digital, Climate Investing and Venture Capital, investing across India and South East Asia. He is currently focused on growing the Climate Investing business, Eversource Capital.

Prior to rejoining Everstone in 2018, Sanjay was Regional Managing Director at L Catterton Asia. He had joined the firm in 2011 to lead its business in India and moved to Singapore in 2012 to take on a pan-regional role. Sanjay started his investing career with Everstone Capital in 2006, where he was an Executive Director in its private equity business in India. Before moving to the buy-side in 2006, Sanjay spent 11 years in corporate finance advisory with Arthur Andersen (1995-2002), Ernst & Young (2002-2004) and Ambit Corporate Finance (2004-2006) in India. 

Sanjay obtained a post-graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (1995) and is a commerce graduate from the Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University (1993).

Sanjay serves on the Board of the Singapore Venture & Private Capital Association (SVCA) and Co-chairs its Climate Solutions Committee. He has been associated with SVCA since 2015, including as Chairman of the Board (2021-2023), Hon. Treasurer (2019-2021) and Board member (2015-2019). As Chairman of SVCA, he also served on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Funds Industry Group, a public-private initiative of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Seok Hui is Chief Executive Officer of the Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA), a Temasek Trust initiative focused on collaborative philanthropy. PAA aims to catalyse collective action for a better world, and prime Asia as a force for the greater good.

Prior to joining Temasek Trust, she was Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). During part of her tenure at SIAC, Seok Hui served concurrently as the first Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC). She is a former member of the Board of SIMC.

Over the years, Seok Hui has worked in Singapore and Hong Kong with local and international law firms as a corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities lawyer, and has also served as General Counsel at multinational corporations. She is a graduate of the London School of Economics, qualified as a barrister, and is admitted as a solicitor in Singapore, Hong Kong SAR and England and Wales.

It has invested in over 50 companies and deployed more than US$500m in the region since inception. Shane has served on the board or as an observer for GoJek, FinAccel, Biofourmis, Whispir, TradeGecko, Halodoc, Finnomena, Pluang, Octopus, Neuroglee, Validus, CXA, BeautyMNL, Topica, among others.

Prior to co-founding Openspace, Shane spent fourteen years in investment banking, with roles including Managing Director and Co-Head, Technology Investment Banking at Citigroup Asia-Pacific. During this time, he worked closely with Asian technology companies, completing over $10bn of transactions with deal sizes from $30mn-$3bn. Before his career in investment banking, Shane was a strategy consultant with Bain & Company, and GEM Consulting in Australia.

Shane holds a Bachelor’s of Law and a Bachelor’s of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD Singapore, where he was a recipient of the IAA Asian Campus scholarship.
Shane has been a board member of SVCA and co-chair of the VC sub-committee since 2021. Shane acts as the Chairman of the Investment Committee for Aidha, offering entrepreneurship opportunities for female migrant workers.

Valerie is a Regional Managing Director at Apex Group, with over 20 years of experience in managing alternative assets servicing teams across Europe, Middle East and Asia.

Having been a qualified and practicing alternative funds lawyer for more than a decade, she has dedicated much of her career advising and supporting financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, and family offices with respect to structuring and managing their cross-border alternative investments.

In her current role at Apex Group, she is leading the charge on growth strategy as well as operational and digital transformation of Apex in ASEAN. She also has a focus on driving ESG and D&I initiatives and is responsible for designing and implementing Apex's ESG and D&I strategy in Asia, partnering with regulators and industry leaders.

Valerie has been an active contributor to the industry throughout her career, serving on the board of various professional organizations and committees. Currently, she is the Chair of the Association of Luxembourg Funds (ALFI) in South East Asia, as well as member of the D&I committee of the Singapore Fund Directors Association (SFDA) and the Singapore Venture Capital Association (SVCA).

Her efforts have been recognized by her peers, and she is often called upon to speak on these topics at industry conferences and events. She is also regularly invited to mentor professionals in the funds industry.

EDBI is a Singapore-based global investor that focuses on select high-growth technology sectors ranging from Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Emerging Technology (ET), Healthcare (HC) and promising Singapore SMEs in strategic industries. Valerie leads the team’s early-stage investments pertaining to sustainability and establishes partnerships with corporates that are involved in building new venture spinouts in this domain. She also works closely with portfolio companies, accelerating the growth of their ventures and providing value creation support.

Prior to this, Valerie was EDB’s Regional Director for East Americas, based out of New York City, where she led engagements with American multinational corporations and high growth startups seeking to expand into new Asian markets. She also played a role in the development of the nation’s data analytics ecosystem at EDB’s Infocomms and Media division in the areas of talent development and research.
