Angela Mancini is Partner and Head of the Geopolitical Risk Analysis practice for Asia Pacific at Control Risks, based in Singapore. She leads a team advising governments and private organizations on how their strategies might be exposed to political, regulatory and reputational risks and developing strategies which allow them to operate successfully amidst geopolitical uncertainty.

Previously, she was the Head of the APAC Markets team, and she also led the Southeast Asia office, a team providing political risk, investigative and security consulting projects for clients across ASEAN. Earlier, she was based in New York City as the Managing Director leading the firm’s accounts team for the Eastern U.S. and Canada, and she headed the Financial Services practice in the Americas.

The firm advises ~80% of the Fortune 500 on capturing commercial opportunity while managing strategic, political, and operational risk through political analysis, business intelligence and crisis resolution.

Angela’s expertise is in geopolitical and regulatory risk, business intelligence and complex problem solving in China and across the APAC region. She is a member of the firm’s Global Partner Group, and she sits on the Regional Executive Committee for APAC.

Angela is a CPA, formerly with Deloitte & Touche, and has worked in financial services and economic development for over 25 years, covering Asia for the past 15 years. She has been posted in Russia, Azerbaijan, Indonesia and Egypt and has worked extensively in India, China, and sub-Saharan Africa.

Before joining Control Risks, Angela was Managing Director and Head of Asia, Russia/Eurasia and Africa Programs for the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, a boutique advisory chaired by the late former US Federal Reserve Chair Paul Volcker, focused on strengthening international banking and financial markets. During her time at FSVC she also ran field programs in Egypt and Indonesia.

She is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a frequent commentator on the intersection of foreign policy and business. She appears regularly in the media, including on BBC, CNBC, Channel News Asia, Bloomberg News, NPR and in the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal.

Steven Okun, the Founder and CEO of APAC Advisors, is a leader on corporate public affairs, ESG, sustainability, and stakeholder engagement. In addition, he serves as a Senior Advisor for the Global Private Capital Association and is the Head of External Affairs for the American Association of the Indo-Pacific.

He spent the first twelve years of his career in Washington, DC, including serving for five years in the Administration of President Bill Clinton, and is a veteran of numerous Presidential campaigns. An in-demand speaker for businesses and conferences, Steve frequently appears as an expert analyst on CNBC and Channel NewsAsia and other global media, provides the weekly International News Review for MONEY FM (Singapore) and contributes commentary to Nikkei Asia, The Straits Times, The Business Times, and Asia Times.

Living in Singapore since 2003, he created and led public affairs in Asia-Pacific for UPS and KKR. He served five terms as Chair of the AmChams of Asia Pacific and three terms as Chair of AmCham Singapore. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
