Dane Chamorro is a Partner at Control Risks and head of the Global Risk Analysis practice in the Americas. Specializing in political/regulatory risk and business intelligence, Dane regularly advises strategic and portfolio investors and private equity firms on political and partner risks, corporate governance and high-profile business disputes globally.

A former US diplomat with over 30 years’ professional experience in the Asia Pacific region, Dane previously served as the Markets and Partnerships lead for Control Risks in Asia Pacific, as well as Managing Partner for the Southeast Asia business. Prior to this he acted as Director of Global Risk Analysis for the Asia Pacific region and Managing Director of the company’s North Asia business, encompassing Greater China, Korea and Mongolia.

Angela Mancini is Partner and Head of Control Risks’ Asia Pacific Markets & Partnerships Group, leading a team that manages political risk, investigative and security consulting projects for multinational clients across APAC. Prior to this, she was based in New York City as the Managing Director leading the firm’s accounts team for the Eastern U.S. and Canada, and headed the Financial Services practice in the Americas.

Angela is a CPA, formerly with Deloitte & Touche, and has worked in financial services and economic development for over 20 years, covering Asia for the past decade. She has been posted in Russia, Indonesia and Egypt and has worked extensively in India, China, and sub-Saharan Africa. Her technical specialties are governance, anti-corruption, and political risk management consulting.

Before joining Control Risks, Angela was Managing Director and Head of Asia, Russia/Eurasia and Africa Programs for the Financial Services Volunteer Corps, a boutique advisory chaired by former US Fed Chair Paul Volcker. She is a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and appears regularly in the media, including on BBC, CNBC, Channel News Asia, Bloomberg News, NPR and in the Financial Times and Wall Street Journal.

Wayne Palmer, the moderator for this event, has over 20 years’ experience in law and asset management platform operations and strategy, including 16 years in Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Pierfront in 2020, Wayne spent ten years at CLSA’s asset management division, initially as Head of Legal and then as Chief Operating Officer where he oversaw all operational aspects of CLSA’s private equity, real estate, credit, real asset and hedge fund businesses. He was also previously a senior lawyer at Clifford Chance advising a range of global and regional private equity houses and banks on their transactional activities.

Wayne holds a LL.B (Hons) in Law and a post-graduate diploma in legal practice granted by The College of Law, York. He is currently a board member of the Singapore Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and has also served as chair of its Advocacy sub-committee.
