Maan leads the Asset Wealth Management and Real Estate tax practices in PwC Singapore. She has over 22 years of experience with 11 years as a partner. Aside from Singapore, she worked in the New York firm of PwC US with US based investment funds on international tax structuring issues. She has assisted managers to set up fund management companies in Singapore, formation of private funds for various sectors, set up and use Singapore-domiciled investment holding structures for several global private equity, real estate, credit, and hedge funds utilizing Singapore fund tax incentive schemes and worked on cross-border investments transactions in the region.

She is the co-chair of the tax working committee of the Singapore Chapter of the Alternative Investments Management Association as well as a member of the tax working groups in the Investment Management Association of Singapore and the Singapore Funds Industry Group (SFIG).

Hwee Seng leads the Deals Tax practice in PwC Singapore. He has over 20 years of experience and specialises in taxation matters relating to M&A. He advises buyers on the best acquisition structure and identifies opportunities to optimise their tax position. Hwee Seng works closely with strategic, financial, and private equity buyers to acquire targets in a wide range of industries. He has led and coordinated numerous M&A projects across the Asia Pacific region.

Hwee Seng is an Accredited Tax Advisor (Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals) and a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). He holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (2nd Upper Class) awarded by the Nanyang Technological University.

Kunal Shah has over 18 years’ experience in the field of Indian tax and regulations. He advises clients in the private equity and venture capital space (domestic and foreign), including real estate, infrastructure and debt funds, onshore and offshore fund structures, distribution waterfall, structuring of earned interest and tax due diligence. He has wide experience in the area of laws including Income tax, Corporate law, Foreign Exchange laws, FDI Policy, SEBI regulations, NBFC regulations, etc.

Kunal helps clients obtain regulatory approvals and tax certificates for investments or exits, and advises them on tax due diligence, and restructuring of their Indian businesses, profit repatriation strategies and capital structures, including waterfall sharing and transaction-related tax negotiation, at the time of exits, etc. He also advises NBFCs, portfolio managers, stock broking organisations, mutual funds, merchant banks, asset management companies, etc., on tax and regulatory matters. In addition, he works closely with leading financial services players and industry bodies in their representations to policy-makers and tax authorities.

Kunal has a postgraduate degree in Law and is also a Chartered Accountant.
