Dr. Atip is currently the Director General at Digital Council of Thailand where he assisted in passing several laws and public policies to accelerate the growth of digital industry and to attract additional foreign investment (e.g., exemption of capital gain taxes for investing in Thai startups). He also assisted in setting up and managing The Digital Council of Thailand, established in accordance of The Digital Council of Thailand Act, B.E 2562 as the central organization to facilitate collaboration between government and private sectors to accelerate the growth of the digital industry.

He has been an executive at Thailand's major telecommunication, broadcasting and digital convergence company. He held leadership positions in public organizations, and contributes to Thailand's leading newspapers. He is an adjunct faculty at Thailand's leading universities and founded a successful Internet startup. He also was appointed to a political office. He is a distinguished public speaker and an experienced professional in the fields of telecommunication, broadcasting and digital convergence.

Dr. Atip received BA and BS from University of Chicago and MS and PhD from Carnegie Mellon University on full scholarship. His doctoral thesis on analytics of social networks and online communities was published in a premium academic journal and won awards at top academic conferences.

Natwut Amornvivat is the Chairman of the Board of True Digital Group, the digital arm of True Corporation, Thailand’s leading integrated communications and digital services provider. Prior to being the Chairman, he was the President (Co) of True Corporation and the President of True Digital Group, driving innovation and capturing growth opportunities in various digital businesses, including Digital Media Platform, O2O and Privilege, Data Analytics, Digital Solutions, Cybersecurity, Integrated Digital Health, and Digital Academy. He initiated Thailand’s leading telemedicine platform “MorDee” as well as offline-to-online health corners and health space with the vision of making healthcare more affordable and accessible for Thai people.

Natwut has been playing an influential role in the startup ecosystem. Not only does he participate as an LP in venture capital funds and an angel investor in early-stage startups, he also co-founded a financial technology startup called T2P Co. Ltd. that provides electronic wallet and loyalty solutions with millions of customer base in multiple countries. Furthermore, he was elected as the Vice President of the Thai Fintech Association.

His involvement in the startup ecosystem does not stop at being an investor and a startup founder. He also helps uplift the capability of Thai digital industries through his influential role as a Vice Chairman of the Digital Council of Thailand (“DCT”). He works closely with the private sector, government, and public sector to encourage fair and supportive regulations and schemes for Thailand to become the startup hub of the region. Through DCT, he also advocates to enhance digital skills and resources for the workforce.

Apart from the business side, Natwut combines his entrepreneurial mindset with his philanthropic pursuit to establish “Read for the Blind”, a crowdsourcing platform that helps improve the quality of life for visually impaired people by enabling people to create audiobooks for the blinds through their
smartphones. The platform has more than 100,000 volunteers and has been able to help 100,000 visually impaired users per month. As a result, he was awarded the Princess Sirindhorn IT Award and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security’s Plaque of Appreciation for improving the quality of life for the blinds. He also co-founded “Help Us Read”, a Facebook group with more than 12,000 volunteers that helps the blinds understand inaccessible content on the internet and photos of the real world. Additionally, he received the Princess Sirindhorn Plaque for Appreciation for creating Artificial Intelligence LINE BOT to virtual raise funds for the Red Cross Thailand.

Natwut’s appetite for knowledge led him to complete his Master’s Degree of Business Administration
from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with concentrations in Strategic Management and Consulting and a Master’s Degree of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a concentration in Industrial Engineering. He has his Bachelor’s Degree of Electrical Engineering in Telecommunication from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand.
