Sanjay possesses 27 years of experience in private capital management, corporate finance and business management. He is the Chairman of the Singapore Venture & Private Capital Association (SVCA), and also serves on the Executive Committee of the Singapore Funds Industry Group (SFIG). In his current role as Chief Business Officer at the Everstone Group, Sanjay works across various facets of the business at this Singapore-headquartered private capital group, with over US$ 7 billion in assets under management across Private Equity, Climate Impact, Logistics, Digital and Venture, investing across India, Southeast Asia and the US-India-Southeast Asia corridor.
Shantanu Mukerji joined Gulf Capital as Managing Director based out of Singapore in October 2021. He leads the firm’s activities in Asia, looking at private equity investments and portfolio growth opportunities. Shantanu brings more than 20 years’ experience covering the Southeast Asia region, with leadership roles in private equity with a focus on consumer brands and services.
Prior to joining Gulf Capital, Mr. Mukerji spent ~ 9 years at L Catterton, the world’s largest consumer-focused private equity group, where he worked on origination, transaction execution, financing, syndication, consortium formation, post investment value creation, restructuring and divestment of private equity investments. His operational experience includes senior leadership roles in the consumer industry at prestigious brands such as LVMH, Ermenegildo Zegna, and Nike.
Shantanu received a B.Tech degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad
Kelvin Yap joined HarbourVest’s London office in 2006 to focus on growth equity and buyout co-investments in Europe and Asia Pacific. In 2009, Kelvin transferred to HarbourVest’s Hong Kong team to focus on primary partnership fund investments and direct co-investments in Asia Pacific. Kelvin relocated to Singapore in 2021 to assist with the opening of the new office. Kelvin currently serves as a board observer at APIIT Education Group.
Kelvin joined HarbourVest from Deloitte in London, where he managed merger and acquisition (including demergers and IPOs) due diligence for both private and public transactions. Prior to that, Kelvin was a senior associate at PwC in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
He received a BC with a double major in Accounting and Finance from Monash University in Australia in 2001. Kelvin is a Chartered Accountant with The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. In addition, he received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2007 from the CFA Institute. He speaks fluent Cantonese, Indonesian, and Malay.
Sam Robinson is Managing Partner of North-East Asset Management Singapore, which focuses on Asia private equity funds. Sam is based in Singapore and has worked in private equity since 1998, initially joining Schroder Ventures in the UK. In 2001, he was one of the founder members of SVG Advisers, a fund of funds business, where he managed the global investment team. SVG Advisers was acquired by Aberdeen Asset Management in 2013, whereupon Sam became Head of Asia Private Equity Fund Investment until his departure in 2015.
