She has 25 years of experience based across the US, India and Singapore markets and in this time, she has combined her skills in strategic consulting, compliance and investigations to help clients maximize the value of their investments. She has led over 200 pre-transaction due diligence assignments for transactions ranging $5 million to $30 billion, evaluating complex businesses across geographies. She regularly acts as an independent advisor to boards and special committees of PE investors, corporates and portfolio companies on shareholder and management disputes, aiding clients in investigating facts and gathering negotiation, arbitration, and court action-relevant information, as appropriate.
As Partner & Managing Director based in AlixPartners Singapore office, Patrick advises companies and creditors in complex, cross border stressed and distressed situations. He can draw on more than 15 years of experience spanning due diligence, M&A, capital raising, formal appointments, operational and financial restructuring. His approach to assignments is to understand the relative positions and motivations of diverse stakeholder groups in order to build consensus on an appropriate way forward. He ensures there is clear and concise analysis and communication delivered at each stage of formulating, agreeing and implementing a plan to resolve the issues at hand. He has worked with management teams, boards of directors and other stakeholders in over $4 billion of consensual restructurings. He has taken formal appointments to recover value for creditors, including through running debtor companies on creditors behalf, completing international sale processes and raising new capital. His expertise includes managing and improving short term liquidity, analysing business plans and financial forecasts, right sizing balance sheets and negotiating debt restructuring terms. He has significant experience in the oil & gas and mining industries.
Wee Yap is the Managing Director of Private Investments at the Firm, bringing over 30 years of extensive experience, including 22 years in private credit, special situations, and private investments.
At SeaTown, he oversees private credit investments and serves as an investment committee member for both the SeaTown Private Credit Fund and the SeaTown Private Capital Fund.
Before joining the Firm, Wee Yap was the Chief Executive Officer of Fullerton Investment Management Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Fullerton Financial Holdings. He previously served as Head of Mezzanine Capital at UOB Bank, where he focused on Asia Pacific private debt opportunities and chaired the Investment Committee.
Earlier in his career, Wee Yap was with JP Morgan, handling pre-IPO financing and other private financing forms. He led DBS's Private Equity unit, covering Greater China and South-East Asia, managing both private equity and private debt strategies from 2003 until his tenure at JP Morgan.
From 1994 to 2003, Wee Yap was part of the corporate lending team at DBS Bank. His roles at DBS included corporate lending, investment banking and NPL restructuring and exit management, and he played a key role in developing a new credit risk rating and credit risk pricing models.
Wee Yap is a CFA charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Technological University, graduating with Second Upper Honors.
