Fongtien Miao is Executive Director at Lighthouse Canton Pte. Ltd. Previously, she worked with families in Greater China and Southeast Asia region at J. P. Morgan, Credit Suisse AG and most recently, Deutsche Bank AG. Prior to that, Fongtien was Associate Director of Marketing & Communications at Bank Julius Baer and earlier, a Financial Journalist at Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore's leading Chinese News Daily.
Fongtien holds an MBA from INSEAD, a MSc. Media and Communications Regulation and Strategy from London School of Economics and Political Science and a BSc. Economics, Politics and International Studies from University of Warwick.
She was a Blockchain and Fintech Fellow at Singapore University of Social Sciences in 2018-2022 and is currently a Member of The Alumni Advisory Board at London School of Economics and Political Sciences.
Shu Yan practices corporate and commercial litigation and arbitration.
Shu Yan has handled a diverse range of matters including private equity, corporate, banking and finance disputes and regulatory actions. She has a particular interest in trust and shareholder disputes and has represented prominent clients and high net worth individuals in these disputes. She is also actively engaged in advising clients both in and out of the courtroom on wide-ranging and complex legal issues. Shu Yan is committed to achieving resolutions which are commercially practical and sustainable for clients.
Shu Yan has an active arbitration practice. The matters which Shu Yan has handled usually involve damages of significant value or span multiple jurisdictions. She is experienced in handling matters involving foreign law issues.
Julian co-heads our Indonesia Desk and Corporate Restructuring & Workouts Practice. He focuses on cross-border mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, debt workouts, and corporate restructuring. Julian has been consistently ranked as a leading individual in his field for many years by leading legal publications.
In Indonesia, Julian advises foreign investors and Indonesian groups divesting equity or entering into joint ventures with foreign investors. He also advises high net-worth individuals and families in Indonesia particularly after the Tax Amnesty in Indonesia and the adoption of Automatic Exchange of Information pursuant to Common Reporting Standard.
Julian has been covering Indonesia since 2000, and he has been involved in many mining projects in Indonesia. On average, Julian makes about 15 to 20 trips a year to Indonesia.
